Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat is Product Ads?Product Ads is an advertising program designed to give customers seamless access to products available on web sites external to amazon.com. As a seller, you simply upload your catalog and set your cost-per-click bids. We will then display highly targeted ads for your items on select amazon.com product and search pages. Customers can click over to your web site and purchase the product directly from you.
Where will ads be displayed?Ad placement will vary depending on whether or not an offer already exists for the product. If no other offer exists, the ad will generally appear just under the product details on the product page and it will be also displayed in search pages. We reserve the right to adjust these placements, and we make no placement guarantees.
In what categories can I advertise my products?See the pricing section for more details. In addition to the current categories, new categories are rolling out continuously.
How does Product Ads compare to other Amazon merchant offerings?Amazon's Selling On Amazon program allows sellers the opportunity to list and sell products on amazon.com. Product Ads allows sellers to advertise on amazon.com. Because Amazon Services manages the purchase transaction for sellers who participate in the Selling On Amazon program, these sellers need not maintain their own point-of-sale web site. Unlike Selling On Amazon, Product Ads allows the seller to manage the purchase transaction at its own e-commerce web site.
How much does it cost to participate?Product Ads uses a cost-per-click model. There are no monthly fees. Sellers upload their product catalog and bid for placement in the categories that the items in their catalog are placed in. Sellers pay only for click traffic generated by their ads. Sellers set a budget to limit how much they spend on a given day.
